Welcome to Year 1 at Longwood Primary School! Year 1 is an exctiting year where children build upon the strong foundations established in Reception and develop greater indepndence, confidence and resilience in their learning. Through our broad and engaging curriculum, children are encouraged to be curious, creative and enthusaiastic learners whilst developing key knowledge and skills across all subjects. 

We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, supported and challenged to achieve their very best. Learning is carefully planned to ensure children make strong progress, whilst opportunties for practical, hands-on experiences help to deepen understanding and foster a love of learning. 

Parents and carers play an important role in their child's learning journey, and we look forward to working in partnership with you throughout the year. 

PE takes place every Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit on this day.
